Checkerdome is a former name of St. Louis Arena, used 1977–1982. St. Louis Arena was an ABA, NBA and NHL arena in Saint Louis, Missouri. It opened in 1929 and closed in 1999. Its last recorded capacity was 14,200. Tenants included St. Louis Eagles (NHL, 1935), St. Louis Bombers (NBA, 1947–1950), St. Louis Blues (NHL, 1968–1994) and Spirits of St. Louis (ABA, 1975–1976).
